"That Mom"

So, usually C and I have a good time when we go to the store, usually Walmart.  I may not be as efficient and forget things, but she's for the most part, well-behaved.

So yesterday I took her to Target.

We walked through the toy aisle - looking for clearance/sale items.  They have a great Sesame Street section, but with a 16 month old who loves Sesame street, not a good idea.

I was "that mom" who had a screaming/crying child.  She was calling for "Cooookie" monster.  So, I guess I learned my lesson not to take her through the toy section or really through any aisles that seem interesting to her, because then she'd want to pick up everything on the shelves.

I used to cringe at the moms who had the screaming child in the store, disturbing everyone else's shopping experience.  Well, I can't say much now.  I finally know what the other side feels like.  I used to vow I would never let my child act like that in public, but what can you do with a 16-month old?  Try to reason with her? Yeah.  At least as she gets older, I can work a little better with why we act a certain way.  But, until then, no more adventures through the toy aisle.
