First Vacation

Well, finally back from Myrtle Beach. It was a long week there, but I was still sad to return to VA.

We left on a Friday (very smart to miss all the traffic) It was an interesting car ride with B, Gracie, and Jenny for 7 hours. We arrived in the very hot heat of the day to a camper with a broken AC. Mom and Dad's AC worked fine, but the camper was already full of people. Pam and Ron's on the other hand was running, but not cooling. So instead, we sat outside only to sweat to death. With company coming all week, we rented a villa (like a mobile home, but a thousand times better...and up in the trees of the campground). It was perfect for the week, considering Cory, Bekah, Nate, and Carly were all coming to visit.

This also prevented all but two showers in the bathhouse, which is always nice to not wear flip flops in the shower. However, even though we were still in the campground, I still missed the experience of the camper for the week. Some of you might think I'm crazy...staying in a camper for a week at the beach and using a bathhouse to shower and use the bathrooom...not to mention, sand is ALWAYS everywhere because you're basically living outside since youre...camping. I grew up with it and that's what I'm used to. For the past 23 years, I've been going to this beach and I absolutely love it.

I was sunscreen nazi this year. Of course B didn't listen the first day, so he got burned. I didn't get nearly as tan as I usually do (since tans are only signs of sun damage!) I kept reapplying my SPF 30 and still managed to get sun! Only goes to show how strong the sun's rays really are!

We had good weather and good company. We ate seafood, went to Crocodile Rocks (which I suggest everyone go there- its awesome), shopped, and relaxed on the beach. I will post a couple of pictures, but most will be on facebook.

It was also an experience to have Gracie there. She really enjoyed the beach (for the few hours total that she was there) Brandon and I reconnected as my stress level decreased to nearly zero since last summer. Like I've said in previous posts, marriage did change a lot with us, but we (or I) was finally able to relax and enjoy being with him again. Now we can stress about moving!

One more beach trip to go in late July and that will be interesting! Time to get moving for the day
