Graduation Events

It was an eventful weekend today and it all happened on Saturday. It all started about 4 am this morning. Brandon and I woke up after the house shook. I asked him what it was and he said the wind. I knew that the wind could not make the house shake like that...literally the entire house. I thought by some chance it was an earthquake. And I was right. We had an earthquake. Event 1.

It was Emily's graduation from VT so we all piled in the vans for the trip. We sat in a hot, stuffy building (Shultz) listening to awful readings by some of the graduates (this is the English dept) I'm not kidding, the readings were awful...and putting me to sleep. Then it was paparazzi time with pictures (did I spell that right?) Event 2.

Graduation party for Em at Mom and Dad's. There were a ton of people. Let me set the scene. I'm standing at the bar in the kitchen. Across from me is my cousin, Brandon is on the end of the bar sitting, and my Granny was standing beside me. All of a sudden, my engagement rings falls off my finger and hits the floor. I bend down to pick it up and its not there. The next thing I know, half the people at the party were on their hands and knees searching for my ring. At this point Brandon's eyes had glazed over and he was hardly responding. Everyone was looking in cabinets, under appliances and it was no where. I insisted it didn't fall far from where I was because of the sound it made. Sure enough I was right. There was an opening between the footboard of the bar and the cabinets under the bar. An opening big enough for my ring to bounce perfectly in. I swore up and down that's where it was. Not 20 minutes after searching, Dad pulled out his tools and began drilling a hole in the bottom of the cabinet. No one could leave the party until we found the ring. ONce the hold was drilled, I did my best to search with the flashlight. Sure enough, there it was. After a bit of effort, I was able to retrieve my ring from underneath the bar. I taped it onto my finger. Event 3

Sure enough the day was quite interesting. I will be sure to post pictures of the ring retreival. Pictures to come from all of the above very soon!!
