Battles and Advice

I've gone almost by the book with Caroline's sleeping habits, and by book I mean, Heathly Sleep Habits, Happy Child book. And as it says in the book, as she matures, she will want to spend more time with me. I'm definitely seeing it. She's having a harder time sleeping during the day, naps getting shorter and shorter.

She is also protest crying. This God-awful cry that she's developed causing me to stop in my tracks to be sure she's not choking. I'm trying to convince myself that she's okay, but after 5 minutes, I go to get her and soothe her again. She'll get so upset, she spits up too. It's tougher now than it was at first.

Of course, now I worry about her going to a sitter in the fall. Not so much worried about her at Mimi's (she's used to Mimi). But, this sitter is someone new, who will have another baby (almost newborn), and I know everyone says she'll adjust, but she is no easy-going baby. It makes me want to have an in-home sitter for the mornings so that at least she'll be consistent in sleeping/napping in her crib. Maybe it would have been easeier to start her at a sitter before she started recognizing faces..
