Caroline Sydney

On Thursday, March 10 at 12:19 pm, Caroline Sydney Snyder arrived. She was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 20 inches long. We couldn't be happier for her arrival.

We were afraid it to be a long labor, but it lasted just a little over 13 hours. My water broke about 11 pm on Wednesday night and we arrived at the hospital about 1:30 am the next morning. To speed up the contractions, I was given pitocin. I finally opted for the epideral, which was well worth it. I was able to sleep a bit to rest up for active labor. After being surprised at how fast I dialated, only a little over an hour later, she was here.

We are so blessed and cannot put it into words. She's a peaceful baby, with only fussiness during most diaper changes and when she's hungry. She does well during her sponge baths and is sleeping pretty well during the night.

The first night was a little rough for me because I was afraid to sleep without someone watching her every move. I quickly got over that when the exhaustion took over. She wakes about every 2-3 hours for feeding, but hardly keeping me up for long. B and I sang songs to her last night during her bath to calm her down. Here are a few more pictures of her. There will be more posts to come, as I find the time.
