Back to school!

I start back to work on Monday. Teacher workdays for a week and a half before the students start on the 25th. I'm ready to get back. The sooner, the sooner the baby comes :). Of course, we are in no way ready for it, supply-wise.

The pregnancy is going well. According to my app on my ipod, I am 11 weeks now. I used the ultrasound and gestational age from my appointment to set my due date, which in turns tells me how far along I am and what is developing on the baby and what the baby looks like. Pretty cool. Yeah, I could count, but I have this thing where I don't like to estimate about where I am, so this makes it easier for me. Plus baby brain, where I forget just about everything almost immediately, has hit me hard. Yeah, this is one thing I won't forget about though.

The nausea is significantly less, which is great. I've started back to my normal exercise routine, with a lot less impact. I'm one to hit a workout hard and P90x always allowed that for me. Now, I have to catch my breath more, break more, and its just harder to get through. Its frustrating because I feel like I"m not getting a workout, but I'm not being crazy about it, because I want to be good for the baby. So I watch my heartrate and drink lots of water and yes, I do take breaks. So for me, being lazy is good.

So now the stress is on telling the boss. I plan on spilling the beans on Monday, if I can set up a time to speak with him. I'm a little nervous because I'll be up for tenure after this year. I only plan on taking 8 weeks, which would put me going back after spring break. That's my thought now of course, which I know I'd much rather take more when it comes down to it. BUT, since I don't get paid during the time, except for what I have sick days, kinda gotta get back to work. Yeah, sucks. I get maternity leave, up to 12 weeks, but doesn't mean I get paid.

Oh, last but not least. Brandon had surgery on Monday for his melanoma. It went well, no problems. He was under watch for 24 hours, just as precaution. His head doesn't look bad at all. He has a follow-up in two weeks, and then we'll know everything is good to go then. Hopefully it won't be long until the next post, but like I said, I start back to work, so I'll do my best.
