Well....back at the hospital again today. Different reasons. Brandon had a place cut off his head after the beach (it was suspicious) and thank goodness for that because it turned out to be melanoma.
He'll have plastic surgery to be sure to remove it all soon. They (the doctors) aren't worried because it was shallow and once he gets the surgery, he'll be in the clear. Now it makes me more conscious of my body (going to do another check tonight!) and looking forward to my derm. appt for a check up.
So take this to heart. Wear sunscreen, AT LEAST SPF 30 and reapply every 2 hours. Wear a hat and protective clothing. My sisters have called my sunscreen monitor because I make sure everyone is protected. I know the damages sun can do and I preach (yes, wrong word choice) to my students about it when I can. See the doctor about it. Brandon went to our family doctor first and she said it looked fine. Well, she was wrong. None of us thought it looked fine, that's why I called a dermatologist and I'm glad I did. The plastic surgeon told me I saved his life.
